Meet our Friendly Staff!

Director

Fred Sussman

Responsible for the overall administration and management of Kindercollege, including curriculum development, budget management, strategic and financial planning, grant writing, personnel selection and supervision, and interface with other college personnel. Serves as Kindercollege representative/liaison to county, state and government agencies.

Assistant Director/Teacher:

The assistant directors serve as the lead teachers and provide administrative leadership at their respective sites when the director is not present. They assume responsibility for curriculum development, staff supervision and evaluation, and staff development. They supervise field placement students, work study students, and establish and maintain cordial and professional relations with parents.

Teacher:

  • Keri Smith

Teachers help develop and implement the curriculum. They are responsible for daily classroom management, for providing a pre-school environment that meets the educational, social, health and welfare needs of the children, they direct, advise and evaluate staff, work with student teachers and work-study students, arrange field trips, conduct teacher-parent meetings, and establish and maintain cordial and professional relations with parents throughout the year.

Teacher assistants are essential to classroom management and enable the teachers to provide the appropriate educational environment for the children. Assistant teachers maintain the classroom in a neat and organized fashion, take responsibility for the group when the teacher is not present, attend workshops and professional training sessions, and establish and maintain cordial and professional relationships with the parents.

Teacher-Aides:

Teacher aides help to prepare and maintain a clean, organized and appropriate learning environment. They work directly with the children in small groups and individual settings. As part of the teaching team, they help plan the curriculum and are expected to continue their education by attending workshops, courses and seminars.

Administrative Assistant:

  • Virginia Smith

The administrative assistant at this site also acts as a general office manager. They schedule the children, collect and deposit tuition payments, and maintain all Kindercollege program and financial records. The office manager represents Kindercollege in interactions with parents, personnel from other offices and agencies both on and off campus, and with perspective clients wishing to enroll their children in the program.

Food Service Worker:

  • Pending

Food service worker purchase, prepare, and distribute the lunches and snacks that are served to the children as part of the daily program. On occasion they may also act as a teacher-aide, working directly with the children in the classroom.
