Temporary Employment Opportunities
Auxiliary Pool Program
The Auxiliary Pool Program provides Orange County Community College with temporary employees to fill part-time clerical assignments lasting from one day to a maximum of 520 hours. The rate of pay is $10/hour and Auxiliary Office Workers are restricted to working no more than 520 hours per year.
Hours are normally 9-5 or 8-4, Monday through Friday, and while the majority of assignments are located in Middletown, assignments can also be made to satellite offices in Newburgh and Port Jervis.
Occasionally, a department will request part time clerical help to fill a temporary position. At that time, the Human Resource Department will provide the department with the resumes on file for temporary clerical positions. After review of the resumes, the department supervisor will contact selected applicants for interviews. The Human Resource Department will retain the resumes they receive for one year.
We are looking for candidates who possess any or all of the following:
- Typing/Word Processing
- Computer skills/experience using data entry, word processing or spreadsheet software
- Ability to answer telephones, transfer calls, take clear messages
- Use of office equipment such as photocopy machines, calculators, and fax machines
- Filing, records maintenance
