Sick Leave

Clerical Grant Staff members working under a 12-month contact shall be granted ninety-six (96) hours of sick leave per grant year, credited in eight (8) hour increments at the first of each month, cumulative to a maximum of two hundred eighty hours (280).

A prorated number of sick leave hours will be credited to any member of Clerical Grant staff employed by the College after the start of the grant period. Unused personal days may be added to the accumulation calculation.

A medical doctor's statement may be required for all absences in excess of three (3) consecutive working days.

Vacation

Members of the Grant Staff who are on a twelve month contract, and all new grant employees hired on a twelve (12) month contract shall receive the following vacation entitlement:

  • First year - ten (10) days
  • Second through Fourth year - fifteen (15) days
  • Fifth Year forward - twenty-one (21) days

Employees may carry over a maximum of ten (10) vacation days from year to year but never to total more than thirty-one (31) days at any time.

In addition, Grant Staff assigned to an SUNY Orange campus on a twelve-month contact shall also enjoy the usual academic vacations as described in the College Bulletin at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break.

Personal Leave

Four (4) days of personal leave per academic year shall be permitted for members of Grant Staff. Notice of leave days shall be given to the appropriate supervisor as far in advance as possible and the reason therefore shall be given unless confidential. At the end of the academic year, all unused personal days will be credited to the employees sick leave balance keeping in mind balance maximums.
