Nursing Writing Program
This is an interdisciplinary four-course program designed to aid SUNY Orange Nursing students to combine professional nursing process and writing skills to their workplace documentation.
Nursing & Writing 1-4 are 1 credit, team taught courses which use Nursing situations for which students practice applying key Nursing & Writing skills.
Using state-of-art technology-enriched techniques, the courses are also hybrid. This means that students learn in class sessions and online. The Power Point below more specifically explains these techniques as well as the overall goals of the program.
Developed over the last 15 years by Professors Patricia Slesinski and Helen Marie Boyle (Nursing) and Chris Godwin (English), these four courses are also the result of over 20 years of collaboration between the Nursing & English Departments, with special input by the Nursing Department Advisory Board, area Nursing employers & graduates, as well as Professors Emeriti Helen Swanwick and Gertrude Schneller.
