Travel-Learn Trips
In addition to our regular courses, Encore offers Travel-Learn trips. These are one day trips, sometimes with a pre-trip or an-the-bus lectures. They are most often scheduled during the early part of the college's Fall and the later part of its Spring semesters. They feature unique opportunities to visit actual sites and learn first-hand. Occasionally they are also offered during the January intersession and the summer months.

Hudson River Maritime Museum & Rondout Lighthouse
Let's relive history...together. On this Encore trip, we'll begin to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the Hudson River. We will tour the Hudson River Maritime Museum where we can see a full scale reproduction of the aft cabin of Henry Hudson's boat, the Half Moon, learn about the history of Rondout Creek, the dynamics of geography, early travel and life on the river. Then we'll take a short boat ride to the historic Rondout Lighthouse. Afterwards we'll enjoy a buffet lunch at the Mariners' Harbor, just a short walk from the museum.
Cost: $60. Space is limited; register early.
