Come learn about how to become a peer mentor through the SUNY Orange BRIDGES program. BRIDGES is an inclusive post-secondary education experience for young adults with disabilities. Peer mentors build relationships aimed at offering guidance and support to their peers in order to assist them in reaching their goals. Stop by and learn more about the SUNY Orange BRIDGES program and the opportunity to become a peer mentor! 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Learning Center Open House Kaplan Hall Room 220 (Newburgh Campus) Visit the Learning Center on the second floor of the Library. You will have the opportunity to meet a tutor and find out about scheduled tutoring, academic labs and other learning resources on campus.

Student Health 101 Rowley Center Lobby (Middletown Campus) In a recent survey, half of all college students said they had been so stressed at times they could not get their work done or enjoy social activities during their previous semester. All of us have the power to take control of our health in order to get the most out of life. Stop by for a rousing game of Wellness Jeopardy! You will learn how to take care of yourself and your mental health with information on stress management, healthy relationships, sleep strategies, nutrition, safe sex and more! You will find out how to get help for yourself and others. Stop by for a full game or just a few minutes. We have prizes! The Clothesline Project is a dramatic display that calls for an end to violence against women. Survivors of abuse and violence tell their stories on t-shirts, which are then publicly exhibited in a colorful show of solidarity that dispels the myths about violence against women and spreads powerful messages of recovery and hope. Presented by the Mental Health Association in Orange County, Inc.

Assistive Technology is any piece of equipment that allows a person of any age with a disability to participate in daily activities. The primary goal of assistive technology is the enhancement of capabilities and the removal of barriers in the performance of daily living skills. Did you also know that SUNY Orange has a Ride Share program ready to help you find carpools in your area? FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. TRIO Student Support Services Open House Shepard Student Center 2nd Floor (Middletown Campus) Trio Student Support Services assists students who are the first generation in their family to attend college, have a documented disability, and/or are considered to be low income as per federal guidelines. Our goal is to increase student retention and graduation rates and facilitate a smooth transition and transfer to four year institutions. We help students to achieve their academic, personal, and career goals by providing support with: selecting a major and appropriate courses, exploring transfer schools, improving financial literacy, discovering and applying for scholarships, accessing tutoring and other support services, researching careers, improving study and organizational skills, and overcoming personal barriers to success.
