Goals
The Career Pathways in Tech Prep Program (Consortium) will focus largely on the four Career Clusters of Architecture & Construction, Health Science, and Business, Management & Training. The Consortium generally supports:
- Professional development initiatives to provide technical content teachers with contextual strategies to help students build core academic skills through integrated instruction;
- Professional development for counselors to enable them to provide information to students, support student progress, stay current with expectations of business and industry, and give appropriate academic and career guidance to Career Pathways in Tech Prep students;
- Curriculum alignment/articulation workshops for secondary, community college, and upper-division faculty and administration;
- Business and industry updates for secondary and postsecondary faculty and counselors; and
- College laboratory experiences for high school students, and work site learning experiences for high school and college students.
