The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a variety of computer-based examinations in the areas of business, mathematics, sciences, English, social sciences, and foreign languages. Orange County Community College is an "open" testing center which means that we administer examinations to not only our own students, but also to the general public. Test candidates, upon completion of their examination, immediately receive a score report and an official transcript is sent by the College Board to the designated institution within two weeks.

Each examination costs $65.00 payable to CLEP either by credit card, personal check or money order. Orange County Community College charges a non-refundable $15.00 fee to administer each examination. There may be an additional fee payable to the test center for essay materials that may be part of the English examinations. Fees to the test center can be paid by either personal check or money order.

As seating is limited, it is important to register and reserve the use of a computer early. All examinations are administered in the Advising & Counseling Center of the Shepard Student Center. If you register for an examination and find that you are not able to attend on the reserved date, please contact this office as soon as possible so that a computer will be available for another examination candidate.

We cannot stress strongly enough that you discuss with an appropriate member of your institution or organization about taking an examination that will fulfill your academic needs. Although CLEP examinations are widely recognized, individual institutions may establish certain limits and requirements as to acceptance of examinations.

**Effective July 1, 2008, the exam fee will increase to $70.00.
