Student Ambassador Program
Mission Statement
While developing and learning the professional skills and tools necessary to become successful leaders in a variety of settings, Student Ambassadors will help guide peers along the college path toward achieving their academic goals.
Program Purpose
Provide students with a peer leadership opportunity while assisting with a variety of Student Services functions.
Student Ambassador Roles
- Assist in the registration process by helping peers become aware of the available academic tools and resources.
- Participate in programs coordinated by other departments in the division such as Admissions and Student Activities.
- Help advisors prepare and co-lead workshops.
- Give potential students campus tours.
Selection
Twelve students are selected based on their application, which includes:
- GPA of 2.5 or above for SUNY Orange students or high school overall average of 80% or above for new students.
- Two letters of recommendation (PDF) (Plain Text),
- Review of the candidate's academic record and,
- An interview with the Student Ambassador Coordinator.

Rewards/Recognition
Student Ambassadors receive a stipend after completion of events at the end of each semester.
