I9108 - Introduction to Medical Coding Online
This course will prepare you for entry level jobs in a doctor's office or other medical facility. You will be introduced to ICD-9-CM, CPT Coding, Medicare Fraud & Abuse, and Evaluation & Management. Prerequisite: Medical Terminology. Purchase of CD and textbooks required: ICD-9, Volume 1 & 2 and CPT Manual. 39 Hours.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE REGISTERED AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE CLASS START DATE TO INSURE PROPER ONLINE COURSE SETUP.
Required texts:
ICD-9-CM Volumes 1 & 2 ($65-$85 approx)
This text is also used in I9110: Advanced ICD-9 Coding Online.
CPT Manual ($55-$75 approx)
This text is also used in I9109: Advanced CPT Coding Online.
Please note:
For this Medical Coding and Billing Specialist online program only, you have the choice to purchase from whatever price level book and publisher of the CPT and ICD-9 Manuals. Once enrolled, the instructor will contact you with more information.
Required CD:
Once enrolled, you will be contacted by the instructor with information on how to purchase the CD ($60 approx).
It is recommended that you take no more than two online courses at a time.
