N9774 - CSI/Forensic Institute (Entering Grades 9-12)

The CSI – Forensic Institute will introduce entering 9th to 12th grade students to the basic elements of crime scene investigation and documentation along with evidence collection and examination. The workshops will include evidence collection methods pertaining to fingerprint analysis and identification; collecting and examining blood, hair and fiber evidence; and firearm and tool mark examinations. Students will also be introduced to the computer-assisted drawing program “Crime Zone” that is utilized by many police departments across the country in reconstructing crime scenes. On the fourth day, students will process a mock crime scene utilizing the skills and techniques learned during the camp. 4 sessions
 

The 4-day Institute will be conducted by Timothy Zeszutek, a former crime scene investigator with the New York State Police and currently an Assistant Professor with the SUNY Orange Department of Criminal Justice.
