Learn the fundamentals of doing amateur or "backyard" astronomy. Participants will learn how to set up and use a telescope; read star charts; draw astronomical sketches; and do basic astrophotography. This is a good beginner's course for someone interested in pursuing astronomy as a hobby or learning enough basic astronomy to lead astronomy projects with school or youth groups.
