Transferability
College credits earned in the CCHS Program transfer to academic institutions that are part of the State University of New York (SUNY). Credits also transfer to many other public and private colleges. Typically a grade of C or better is required to transfer credit to another academic institution.
Students registering for courses through CCHS should be aware that transfer credit is always determined by the receiving institution. CCHS students are therefore advised to inquire about course transferability by calling the Admissions Office of the institution(s) to which they plan to apply.
Of those that responded to the CCHS student survey, 95% were able to transfer their courses and credits.
To transfer your credits, you must complete a Transcript Request Form. This form is available through the Records and Registration office at SUNY Orange and online at http://www.sunyorange.edu/academic_services/transcripts.shtml . There is a fee for this service. You may request official transcripts by phone by calling the Records and Registration office.
When requesting credit, be sure to explain that these credits were earned through a Concurrent Education Program (CEP), as the policies regarding these programs are quite specific. If the transfer college or university does not initially accept the credits, please contact your high school guidance counselor, who may request that an official syllabus be sent to the academic institution for review.
