High school seniors need an 85 cumulative average in their Regents courses to be eligible to apply. Students need a minimum score of 85 on the appropriate Regents exam for the college course they wish to take. Additionally, students must be recommended by their teacher(s) and their high school guidance counselor as having the maturity and responsibility to be successful in the CCHSP Program.
Exceptional high school juniors may apply if they have a 90 cumulative average in their Regents courses and have earned at least a 90 on the appropriate Regents exam(s).
A student who fails to meet eligibility criteria can only enroll in a SUNY Orange CCHSP course with an academic waiver approved by the appropriate SUNY Orange department chair. Requests for such waivers are made by either the high school principal or guidance director. High school officials who wish to make a waiver request on a student's behalf should contact the SUNY Orange CCHSP Program Coordinator for details. Requests will be decided on a case-by-case basis by the appropriate SUNY Orange department chair.
