How Can We Help You?

The Office of Career and Internship Services assists students to acquire skills that will help obtain employment.  We can assist with resumes, cover letters, interviewing techniques and job readiness tips.  The office also provides various workshops throughout the year.  A list of upcoming workshops can be found here.

This self-paced career guidance tool will enable you to self-assess your career-relevant personal qualities: work interests, personality, skills, work values and leisure activities. It can help you to explore career fields and major areas of study that match your assessment results.

Employers are always looking for good help. New job opportunities are posted every day from many employers throughout the area. Check our job boards in the Shepard Student Center and our online job board by entering our Career Portal.* Jobs are posted for 30 days, and in order to search for jobs, you must register with our office which you can do online.

Resume and Cover Letter Basics

A resume is your first step in landing the job of your dreams. We can assist you in creating a resume which can get you that coveted interview. If you need help in creating a resume or cover letter, or if you would like to have your resume or cover letter critiqued before you send it out to employers, you are in the right place!  We offer:

  • career specific resume samples
  • resume critiques

Resume Guidelines (PDF) We believe every resume needs a cover letter to introduce the person who is sending that resume. This letter has distinct form and content and should point out the candidate's qualifications and sincere interest in the position.  This document is your chance to market yourself as the best person for the position offered.  Cover Letter Guidelines (PDF) If you prefer, you may obtain a hard copy of these guidelines by stopping in at Career and Internship Services, Shepard Student Center, room 227.
