I9060 - Basic Bookkeeping Concepts and Procedures
This course provides you with hands-on practical instruction to prepare you for an entry level position as a Bookkeeper or account clerk with fiscal responsibilities. The material covered is designed to prepare you for further study to qualify for the National Certification Examination for Certified Bookkeepers. Topics covered will include a basic understanding of the Accounting Equation and the Double Entry Framework. Additional topics covered will be Deferrals and Accruals, Inventory, Internal Controls, Payroll and Depreciation (60 hours). We will also cover QuickBooks which will prepare you to handle Bookkeeping functions (15 hours). Purchase of textbooks required. 25 sessions. (Please note: This course will not be offered in the spring or summer of 2009 but may return in the fall/2009 semester.)
