After graduating from RIT, Donald spent the next 16 years as an entrepreneur building a retail operation from a start-up to a multi-million dollar enterprise while continuing his education. Along the way, he held the titles of Store Manager, Director of Information Systems and Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He started teaching as an adjunct at SUNY Orange in 2000.
After leaving the world of retail, Donald taught full-time at Ridley-Lowell Business and Technical Institute, where he developed new curriculum for several classes and was the acting Dean of Students for one semester.
Before coming to SUNY Orange he was most recently a full-time faculty member at Jefferson Community College where he co-chaired the Entrepreneurship Day seminar and competition. Mr. Urmston has taught a wide variety of classes including marketing, management, mathematics, accounting, computers, and English.
