Refund Policies at SUNY Orange
Credit Class Refund Policies - (8 NYCRR section 602.11)
Students who officially withdraw from a credit course or from the college may be eligible for a refund of tuition and appropriate share of fees in accordance with the following schedule:
Spring Full Semester Classes (start Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012)
Prior to the start date of the semester.......1/13/12...........................100%
During the first week...................................1/17/12 to 1/23/12 ......... 75%
During the second week..............................1/24/12 to 1/30/12. .........50%
During the third week..................................1/31/12 to 2/6/12.............25%
After the third week.....................................starting 2/7/12...................0%
First Half classes (start Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012)
Prior to the start date of the semester.........1/13/12..........................100%
During the first week.....................................1/17/12 to 1/23/12..........25%
After the first week.......................................starting 1/24/12.................0%
Second Half Classes (start Thursday, March 8, 2012)
Prior to the start date of the semester..........3/7/12...........................100%

Summer 2012 Classes:
Summer 2012 1 starts 5/21/12
Summer 2012 2 starts 7/2/12
The summer sessions are considered one semester.
Prior to the start date of the session.......100% refund

During the first week........................25% refund
Summer Session 1................5/21/12 to 5/27/12
Summer Session 2....................7/2/12 to 7/9/12

The first day that classes are offered as scheduled by the College, shall be considered the first day of the semester, and the first week of classes for the purposes of this section, shall be deemed to have ended when seven calendar days, including the first day of classes, have elapsed.
Spring refunds are processed and mailed approximately six weeks after the beginning of the semester. Summer refunds are processed and mailed approximately four weeks after the beginning of the semester. Inquiries regarding refund policy should be directed in writing to SUNY Orange County Community College c/o Tuition Credit Review Committee, Shepard Student Center, 115 South Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Tuition request forms are available at sunyorange.edu or at the Bursar’s Office.
Title IV Federal Refund Policy
Title IV Federal Financial Aid Students who withdraw or stop attending the college during the first 60% of the semester have their financial aid recalculated according to the Higher Education Amendments of 1998, 34 CFR part 668.22. Some grant recipients may owe repayment to both the institution and the Federal government as the result of this recalculation.
