Among the many significant events that have shaped the development of SUNY Orange during its nearly six decades of existence, there have been three philanthropic milestones that stand out as defining moments.
The first occurred in the late 1940’s with the generosity of Mrs. Christine Morrison. Her gift made it possible for the College to build its first campus on her family
estate in Middletown.
The second came in 1985 when the College’s Educational Foundation was established to create scholarships. Since its founding, the Foundation has enabled hundreds of students to attain the dream of an education.
The third was realized in 1994, when the community responded by contributing an unprecedented $1.2 million to the College’s first capital campaign.
Each of these milestones became a reality through generosity, teamwork and an untiring commitment by the citizens of Orange County. Their
contributions have provided quality
public higher education opportunities
for generations of men and women.
These events are important for Orange
County to celebrate. They signify more
than defining moments in the history
of the College, they are milestones in
the life of an entire community.

Gift Considerations:

Giving thoughtful consideration to committing to the Campaign is a highly personal decision, one that frequently begins with a conversation with spouses, loved ones or other family members. Those conversations typically focus on what you hope your gift will achieve – making a difference and creating a legacy.
Your gift has the potential to alter the life of a student by fulfilling the dream of an education, to help shape the future of Orange County Community College and quite possibly, to influence an entire community.

Naming Considerations:
Naming Considerations Plain Text
SUNY Orange believes that every gift to the Defining Moments Campaign should be celebrated and recognized. Unless a donor wishes to remain anonymous, all gifts to the Campaign will be listed in a variety of publications and on the College’s website.
If you are contemplating making a commitment of $2,500 or more, you may wish to review the sampling of naming opportunities linked above. They are available to honor the donor, a loved one, friend or colleague. If you have an idea that is not on the list, we always welcome a great suggestion.
