New Start Workshops

All newly admitted students must attend a New START workshop (Student Registration Advising Tutorial) before they can meet with an Academic Advisor and register. The goal of this workshop is:

  • To introduce students to college resources and support services
  • To explain basic academic policies and procedures
  • To set academic expectations
  • To explain the next steps in the Registration process
  • To introduce students to online resources such as Banner and SUNY Orange email account
  • To better prepare students for their advising conversation with Advisors

When you have met the following criteria, Admissions will notify you to schedule an appointment to attend a New START:

  1. Been notified of their admission to the College
  2. Submitted immunization records
  3. Taken the Placement Test or been granted a waiver (PDF) (Plain Text).
