ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS: You must be at least 17 years of age and answer yes to one of the following questions: a) Are you a member of a graduated high school class? b) Have you been out of high school for at least one full year? The 24 Credit Hour Program is not intended to encourage students to drop out of high school. Developmental and/or English as a Second Language courses cannot be part of the 24 College credits. NOTE: Please be aware that in order to be issued a N.Y. State high school equivalency diploma, you must reside in N.Y. State at the time you apply to the State for your GED. ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES: 1. Complete application and submit it with a non-refundable $30.00 application fee to the Admissions Office. 2. Make an appointment for an interview with an Admissions Counselor who will explain the program and how it may affect financial aid eligibility. To make an appointment call (845) 341-4030. 3. Take a placement assessment to determine your skill level in English and math. If basic skill development is required, extra academic support will be provided for you. This will help you achieve your academic and personal goals here at SUNY Orange. Call 341-4070 for information. Developmental courses do not count toward the 24 credits. 4. Have your high school mail an official academic transcript of all work completed before you withdrew (required for 17-18 year olds). 5.
