SUNY Orange Application Instructions For Admission Or Readmission

 

*FALL 2016 APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. STUDENTS WHO WISH TO ENROLL FOR FALL 2016 MUST CONTACT ADMISSIONS AT 845-341-4030 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THOSE WHO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

 

  • Official high school transcript (Must be in a sealed envelope)
  • Office college transcripts (if applicable)
  • Immunization records

    APPOINTMENTS WITH OUR ADMISSIONS STAFF WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 9:30-7:30 PM MONDAY- THURSDAY DURING THE WEEKS OF AUGUST 15 & AUGUST 22


Important notes:

  • The Office of Admissions official method of communication will be through email. Please be sure to put a valid email address on your application and be sure to check it regularly.

  • To complete your financial aid application for the 2016-2017 academic year, please visit www.FAFSA.ed.gov. You may also get more information by visiting the SUNY Orange Financial Aid website.

  • Students who wish to attend SUNY Orange as a non-degree seeking student WILL NOT have to apply for admission. Those students who attend as non-degree seeking students WILL NOT be eligible for financial aid.

  • Please note, this application is not considered in the Health Profession review process. Students who are interested in one of our Health Profession Programs MUST fill out a Health Profession Application by the posted deadline. Dates to Consider:

  • The Fall 2016 Semester will begin on Monday, August 29, 2016
  • Applications for Spring 2017 General Admission will open on Monday, August 29. 2016

 

Paths to Apply to SUNY Orange

New Students:

  • submit an online application for admission
  • submit application fee of $30
  • submit official high school transcript (with proof of graduation) or official GED Score Report
    • Note: All international credentials must be evaluated (www.naces.org)
  • submit the Placement Test Waiver form if you have successfully completed a college-level English and/Math course with a grade of "C" or better. Waivers may also be granted for AP scores in appropriate courses with a grade of 3 or higher.
  • all admitted students must attend a NewSTART advising and registration session
    (*Proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella must be submitted prior to attending a New START workshop)

Transfer Students:

  • submit an online application for admission
  • submit application fee of $30
  • submit official high school transcript (with proof of graduation) or GED Score Report
    • submit all official college transcripts (transfer credit evaluation process)
    • Note: If a transfer student has a college degree, a final high school transcript/GED MUST be submitted.

Readmits:
*Readmit applicants are students who have not attended SUNY Orange for two or more consecutive semesters [excluding summer]:

  • submit an online application
  • submit application fee of $20
  • all readmitted students returning on academic probation must attend a Re-START advising and registration session

**Important notes for all applicants**:

  • Students who have not completed the financial aid process, including non-submission of financial aid documents, will be responsible for making payment arrangements or full payment at the time of course registration. Please refer to the Bursar page for more information.
  • If you are a U.S. citizen, but received your high school/secondary diploma abroad, you MUST take the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test. Please visit our placement testing website to register.
