SUNY Orange Application Instructions For Admission Or Readmission


The following application is for those who wish to be Full or
Part-time Degree-Seeking (Matriculated) Students

Important Notes:

  • Students who wish to enroll for Summer Session II courses must contact admissions at 845-341-4030.

  • All official communication from the Office of Admissions will be through the email account you provided on your application. We encourage you to check your email daily.

  • Applications will be processed in approximately 3-4 business days.

  • We would like to encourage you to pay your application fee online. This will expediate the processing of your application fee payment. If you wish to pay in person, please allow 48 hours for processing.

  • Students who wish to attend SUNY Orange as a non-degree seeking student do not have to apply for admission. Those who register as non-degree seeking will not be eligible for Finanical Aid and can only take up to 11.5 credits.

Paths to Apply to SUNY Orange

New Students:

  • apply online or download and complete the admissions application
  • submit application fee of $30
  • submit official high school transcript (with proof of graduation) or official GED Score Report
    • Note: All international credentials must be evaluated (www.naces.org)
  • submit the Placement Test Waiver form if you have successfully completed a college-level English and/Math course with a grade of "C" or better. Waivers may also be granted for AP scores in appropriate courses with a grade of 3 or higher.
  • all admitted students must attend a NewSTART advising and registration session
    (*Proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella must be submitted prior to attending a New START workshop)

Transfer Students:

  • apply online or download and complete the admissions application
  • submit application fee of $30
  • submit official high school transcript (with proof of graduation) or GED Score Report
    • submit all official college transcripts (transfer credit evaluation process)
    • Note: If a transfer student has a college degree, a final high school transcript/GED is not required
    • Note: All international credentials must be evaluated (www.naces.org)

Readmits:
*Readmit applicants are students who have not attended SUNY Orange for two or more consecutive semesters [excluding summer]:

  • apply online or download and complete the admissions application
  • submit application fee of $20
  • all readmitted students returning on academic probation must attend a Re-START advising and registration session

**Important notes for all applicants**:

  • If you have not yet submitted all required documentation, you will be expected to make arrangements for payment of tuition and fees at the time of registration.
  • If you are a U.S. citizen, but received your high school/secondary diploma abroad, you MUST take the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test. Please visit our placement testing website to register.
